I was unaware when moving here that we were eligible for the Spanish Health Service but as my husband has retired and I am classed as his dependant then we have been registered with their health service.
Not too sure whether others still pay for private health insurance as well as this but it was very pleasant to find out that the Spanish, as always, care for the elderly.
I will look into it more fully to find out what we are covered for but at the moment we are waiting for a doctor to be allocated to us. As usual nothing happens overnight but I am getting used to that now
